It is usually seen as old people’s problem, but more and more young people have the problem of high blood pressure(高血压).

As many as 3.8% of teenagers aged from 15 to 20 are threatened by high blood pressure, according to a survey of 10,000 young people of the age group in Harbin, Heilongjiang Province. The number is much larger than in the past years and doctors are worried that it could cause more health problems.

Research shows that teenagers with higher-than-normal blood pressure are easier to have heart trouble later in life.

The doctors say it is now known that high blood pressure has risen fast among young people, so teenagers are experiencing the most important time in their lives.
