Though great progress has made in science these years, there are still many people living in poor conditions. They make their lives by collecting and selling used thing. The answer lies on the population explosion. A president of a developing country once said; "It is us who are to blame for the poverty because we used to 'produce' child without limit." During the summer holidays in this year, I thought I shall do something meaningfully instead of staying at home, but I got a job at a KFC fast-food restaurant and worked there as a cleaner. I worked seven hours a day for three weeks. The job was hard and bored and seemed endless, that made me very tired that I nearly gave it up half way. After all, I stick to it with determination. Every day I started off for work early in the morning and got home lately in the evening. Finally I finished the job before the new term began. Now, I understand what labor means. I think it is really successful experience.

I didn’t go to school yesterday. Ladies and gentlemen,
Welcome to our English Corner. This Corner was set up three years before. Every Sunday morning, students from different schools gather around here. Many college students or some foreigners often join us. We practise spoken English by talk about everything we are intrersted. We also exchange our experience in English study. We all have a good time here. Thousand of people have been here when it was set up.
We think that they have learned a lot by taking part in activities here. It is a really supplement to our English class and it is welcome by students, their parents and teachers.

This term we have a new English teacher, Mr. Zheng, which often says, “A good teacher
should be a person who does all that he can make himself unnecessary.” At the beginning,
we all felt puzzling at his words, but gradually we came to accept Mr. Zheng as a greater
teacher. Above all, he has a special way to make ourselves interested in his class. Besides, he
always gave us some advice on what to learn English better. “The purpose of learning a
foreign language,” he said, “are to be able to use it freely in our daily life. Try your best to

I have a plenty of plans for the winter vacation. But my friend Wang Lin doesn’t have any. She just stays at home watching TV. “Don’t you look forward reading good books during the vacation?” I ask her this morning. Without taking her eyes on the TV screen, she replied, “No.” I felt very worry when I heard what he said. Though we should relax during the winter vacation, I don’t think it is the good idea to relax through watching TV. Watching TV all the time not only wastes our time but also harm our healthy. I do hope Wang Lin will spend less time during the vacation watch TV.

Dear Diana,
Thank you for the lovely day we have with you. It was so kind for you to let us bring Anne’s friend, Gina. Fortunately, the only problem was the journey home. There had been a terrible accident on the highway and, for a result, there was a long line of traffic for at least six mile. In the end, we drove to a service station but waited there until the road was clear. In the car park there, Gina nearly knocked over as a car drove out far too quick from behind a lorry. We finally dropped Gina off at his parents’ and made our own way back to home.

Mr. Turner turned over in bed from time to time in last night, for he was
very excited that he could not fall asleep. Yesterday morning, he went to
a big gardening company, knowing as Green Fingers, for the interview.
Mr. Turner, that liked to help his grandfather grow flowers in the garden,
looking forward to the job offered by the company. When he got to the
company, he found there were many people waiting there and he had
no ideas whether he could get the job. While waited, he helped the
workers there to remove the fallen trees and clear the road. Unluckily, he
was the only one who finally got the job, so the manager decided to give
the job to whoever he believed was helpful.

As a senior three student, it won’t take long after I graduate. Now, I have much to share with my fellow student. Firstly, I’d like to show my appreciation to those stand by me all the way, teachers, parents and friends included. Without their help or advice, my life would be different.
