A good friend of mine lives about one hour away. I called her last week and found out that she wasn’t doing well at work, which would make the following year a little more difficult. After hanging up the phone, I decided to offer to help her, but I couldn’t think of what to do. However, opportunities come themselves when you’re not even looking for.
A few days later, some friends and I happened to be eating desserts at a restaurant in her city. As we were looking at the menu, I turned to my friends and asked them if they wanted to join in a game. After explaining the idea, they decided to take 15 minutes to make someone’s day. We ordered an extra dessert, wrote a note, added a smile card and were off. However, there was one problem: I had no idea where she was.
Therefore, it was time to rely on the network. I called up a friend and got him to call her to see what she was doing and found out that she was at work.
We drove to her work place and one of my friends became the delivery(投递)person. He went in to look for my friend, found her, didn’t really answer her questions and walked out, saying he’s simply a delivery person.
He ran out quickly and I bent down as we drove by to make sure she didn’t follow him out. Afterwards, all of us had this huge smile on our faces. We felt as if we had just planned a surprise party or something.
A simple opportunity turned into a moment that many of us can now share.

I recently received an e-mail from a wise speaker. In his e-mail, he pointed out some obstacles that lie ahead on the way to success. 1.
Laziness. Even with a right goal and the courage to pursue it, your efforts will be in vain unless you're willing to take actions. 2. Post your visions and plans in your bedroom, bathroom and office. Share them with others. In that case, everyone could be your supervisor. Make yourself responsible and become the master of your destiny.
Doubt. 3. Life and work can be hard and even cruel. Remember, the race is not for the smartest but for those who don't give up. Rather than allowing doubt to stand in your path, you owe it to yourself to remain confident in your plan. 4.
Dishonesty. As you begin to be successful, you'll tend to lie, exaggerate(夸大), and cheat in order to move your agenda forward. However, taking the easy way of dishonesty will make you become the person you hate. 5. True success comes when you are a person of your word, when you have a pure conscience(良心),and when you have not cheated others on your way to the top.
A. Only the brave can overcome this first obstacle.
B. His thoughts were so deep and insightful that I edited them.
C. Write down your goals and the action steps you'll take to pursue those goals.
D. In the end, it causes far more problems than taking the risk of telling the truth.
E. Adjust it as needed along the way, but always know that success will ultimately be yours.
F. Once you've made a decision, doubt is a worm that eats away at your ability to succeed.
G. If you can't experience gratitude, you might as well have stayed exactly where you started.

“Happiness Shared” was title of an e-mail I received from a website that I really enjoyed. It inspired me to contacting two friends and invite him over for a craft day. I was excited about sharing craft ideas and baking cookies with friend! Then one friend sent me a message saying that she was depressing and thought she should not come, so she would only bring us down. I sent her a quote what inspires me when I’m upset. It is, “Think about how you want to feel and do whatever it takes to make it to happen.” Finally, she comes and we had a great day. It is so nicely to have someone to share your day with!

Last week the manager of an old jeweler’s shop received a letter marked “personal”, so of course his secretary gave it to him unopened. As he was very busy, the letter lay on his desk till tea-time. Then he opened it and a £10 note fell out onto his desk. With the note was a short letter. This is what it said:
Dear Sir,
In 1935 I got engaged. But unfortunately at that time there was a lot of unemployment and I lost my job. I was six months without a job and then I got work again. But of course was very short of money. I came to your shop to buy a wedding ring. The assistant brought some rings for me to look at, but she was called away for a moment, and I put one of the rings in my pocket. When she came back, I said I did not know the size of my girl-friend’s finger. So I left the shop without buying a ring.
My wife died a short while ago and the fact that I never paid for her ring has been on my conscience (良心) all these years. At the time the ring cost £2 so I reckon (估计) that is about £10 at today’s price. And I am sending you that amount.
Yours truly,
A customer
